I've been to a few movies lately (one was paid for by work as a morale event, which was nice), so here's a few quick reviews.
Ocean's 13:
One of my colleagues from work described it best as 'rich movie stars getting paid to have fun' and I think that best sums up this movie. The plot is based on the same crew from the other movies getting together to exact revenge upon a greedy Las Vegas casino owner. Matt Damon and George Clooney definitely gave off the vibe that they were buddies having a good time and strangely I enjoyed it. If you thought 12 wasn't very good, well this is a step up again, but not quite to the level of 11.
Overall: 7.5/10
Knocked Up:
You know the old story. Smart, beautiful, blonde (Katherine Heigl aka Issy from Grey's Anatomy) meets average looking druggo loser (Seth Rogen) at a night club and they end up in bed together. Wait a minute, if you're thinking 'hey, that would never happen' that's exactly what I thought when it did in this movie.
After getting over this small stretch of the viewer's reality, the movie settles into a nice comedy. I especially liked the interaction between Ben (Seth) and Alison's (Issy's) sister's husband. Their references to Back To The Future cracked up at least half of the audience.
Overall: 8/10
1408:
Be prepared when you go to see this movie - it is pretty weird and even a little scary. It stars John Cusack (who will always be the Gross Pointe Blank guy to me) and has a cameo role from Samuel L. Jackson. Cusack stars as Mike Enslin who writes books about the 10 most scary hotels to stay at, but has basically given up on the idea of ghosts, poltergeists and the like because he has never encountered anything other than a scary atmosphere. This all changes when he goes to the Dolphin hotel in New York to room 1408.
Overall: 6.5/10

"Katherine Heigl aka Issy from Grey's Anatomy" ?!?! More like Isabel Evans from Roswell!
Well, if you want to get all old-school on me... I never got hooked on Roswell mainly because it was on way too late at night and I never could be bothered to record it. If I had a TiVo things may have been different.
