Canberra: FM1047

I've mainly been listening to C89.5 or other local radio stations so I decided to tune back into one of Canberra's radio stations today (104.7). It is nice to hear a few songs that I haven't heard for a while. It is a little scary that many of the songs being played were playing when I left. I guess things don't change that quickly, although there are a few new DJs on the radio.

The only problem is that it makes me homesick hearing about Canberra events and even familiar commercials...

Colin, I think you should be honest with your world audience and fully describe FM104.7!!! There's some new stuff on Triple J and yes, they do stream.

I guess I'll leave it up to them to judge for themselves... I don't mind them, but I did listen to Triple J sometimes as well.

Make sure you take a listen to C89.5 as well - they play dance music and are commercial free. Not bad at all.

I can't believe that C89.5 is run by high school students. How cool would that be?!

Did I ever mention that I hosted my own weekly radio show once? It was so successful that I used to let a 5 disc CD player fill in for me whenever I wanted to go to a Brumbies game.

They put real DJs on after hours but it is still pretty good for a high school station.

I do recall you used to host a show down in 'The Valley' (wasn't it?). Nice work. People probably appreciated the continuous music when the CD player filled in :).

Another more commercial station I listen to is Hitz Radio. That was my first streaming radio station so I often go back and take a listen.
